Hot Selling DTL-2 series(10mm2-500mm2) of copper-aluminium wiring terminals are suitable for transition connection of the circular aluminium wires, hemicycle-sector aluminium wires, power supply cables in the distribution equipment and copper terminals of the electrical equipment. The material of aluminium and copper is that of L3 and T2 respectively. The technology of friction weiding is wonderfully adopted. Therefore they have distinguishing features of strong weld intensity, good nature in electrification, resistant galvanic corrosion and long service life.
What happens if we connect aluminum wires with pure copper connectors?
If copper terminals are used with aluminum wires, there will be an uneven contact between the aluminum wire and the copper terminal sleeve.
-Electrolytic corrosion will occur, and to prevent uneven contact and avoid electrolytic corrosion, it is recommended to use copper-aluminum bimetal earrings;
-Electrolytic corrosion causes changes in the contact area and surface roughness, leading to poor contact;
-Electrolytic corrosion-induced oxides cause poor attachment;
-Oxidation of the cable, causing poor contact, accelerates cable aging, and shortens the service life of the cable;
-Electrical chemical reactions often cause the cable to be out of phase, damaging electrical equipment and causing personal injury accidents;
-Traditional connection methods are bulky and expensive, and are difficult to adapt to spaces with limited space.
What are bimetal terminals?
Bimetal terminals are suitable for connecting aluminum conductors to copper terminal bars or terminals. When copper conductors or terminals are connected to aluminum products, an electrolytic corrosion effect will occur, reducing conductivity and affecting product life.
Copper-aluminum terminals are used for aluminum cables. The sleeve part is aluminum, and the screw eye part is copper. The main materials are T2 purple copper and L3 white aluminum.
Bimetal terminals can effectively avoid this problem, providing a technically robust and durable connection.
The aluminum tube and copper contact surface are welded together using friction welding technology, thus achieving the best transition between the two materials.
